If there was ever doubt about savings from solar energy for businesses and home-owners, it was put to rest today by the Hon. Philip Paulwell, Minister of Science, Technology, Energy & Mining. He told visitors to the DBJ GreenBiz Energy Fair at Emancipation Park that his home electricity bill declined from $30,000 monthly to just $1,661 for his latest bill since installing a solar system.

“This thing makes C-E-N-T-S, and a lot of it” Mr. Paulwell said, while encouraging Jamaicans to visit the fair and take advantage of the low rates offered on loans for energy efficiency projects by the Development Bank of Jamaica and the National Housing Trust.

These singles have been creating waves on the Finland music market and have received over 500,000 hits combined. Understand," was produced by T.J Records and  "Invincible" was written and co-produced by Night.

BlackBerry maker, Research In Motion (RIM), has appointed Wes Nicol as Regional Managing Director for Latin America. Wes succeeds Rick Costanzo, who is now Executive Vice President of Global Sales at RIM.

Wes Nicol has been with RIM for 12 years, working in various roles across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Most recently he has been in the role of Managing Director for the Caribbean and Andean region, where BlackBerry is the market-leading smartphone*. He has also managed the relationship with Telefonica and other strategic carriers in Latin America, as well as Nextel International.

Taking charitable donations to the next level, First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union (FHCCU) has established a small business support system at the Cassava River Infant and Primary School, providing that institution with a continued source of revenue.

Utilising their “Business in a Box” concept, FHCCU seeded a chicken rearing project at the School in May 2012.  To get the business up and running, the Credit Union provided goods and supplies valued at $104,000 including 200 chickens, water pans, chicken feed, medicine and feeding trays.
