The Palmyra Foundation announced today that the stage is set for a fabulous Tropical Beach Concert featuring reggae ambassadors "Third World", Tarrus Riley, Tessanne Chin and Dean Fraser on Friday, February 11, 2011. Proceeds from the concert, to take place on the beautiful white sand beach of The Palmyra Resort & Spa in Montego Bay, will go towards the purchase of books for 4 and 5 year old Jamaican school children for the 2011/ 2012 school year.
Said Cat Coore from headliner Third World Band; "It takes a Village to raise a child. The Palmyra Foundation has become a part of a village that believes in giving children an opportunity. Third World is honoured to be a part of the fundraising efforts with our performance in Montego Bay. It is our duty to help cultivate the minds of our future lawyers, doctors, politicians, musicians. . . you name it."
In addition to the headlining Third World Band, beloved singer Tarrus Riley, musician Dean Fraser and singer Tessanne Chin will be entertaining the crowds at the big Foundation beach bash. Aside from fabulous entertainment in a stunning setting, tickets include plenty of food & drink. Appleton Rum, J. Wray & Nephew, Coronas Extra, Ocean Spray, WATA, Budweiser, Coca Cola and Irie Cosmo will be on hand to provide drinks to party goers, while food stations will be provided by local restaurants Scotchie’s jerk pit, Pier 1, Margaritaville, Groovy Grouper and Rainforest Seafood/ The Palmyra Resort & Spa. The Tropical Beach Concert is part of a fun-filled "Valentines Weekend" fundraising effort at The Palmyra Resort & Spa on February 11 – 12, 2011. While world renowned reggae ambassadors Third World Band is set to rock the white sand beach at The Palmyra Resort & Spa on Friday February 11th, an elegant Benefit Dinner & Dance with food stations, drinks, entertainment and a silent auction will take place at The Palmyra Clubhouse and pool area on Saturday February 12.
